- 1). Multiply the number of hours worked, as shown on your pay stub, by 60 and record the number. Just use the whole number. It will be added to the fractional hours worked. Skip this step if you are only calculating the fractional hours portion of your time worked.
- 2). Multiply the amount of minutes listed by 60 to get the number of minutes worked. For example, if your minutes are listed as .25 hours (in digital form), that translates to 15 minutes (60 x .25). If your minutes are listed as .833 hours, that translates to 50 minutes.
- 3). Add the totals from Steps 1 and 2 for a grand total of minutes worked.
- 4). Divide the number of minutes worked by 60 to translate it to digital form for invoicing or other purposes. For example, if you work 4 hours and 40 minutes at a job, divide 40 by 60 (0.67) and add it to the 4 hours for a digital total of time worked of 4.67 hours.
