How to Load a Visa Card

    Online

    • 1). Visit the Visa Reloadable Card Web page (see References).

    • 2). Click the "Online" tab.

    • 3). Click the logo of one of the merchants that offers online Visa card purchases.

    • 4). Fill out the requested information, including your name, Social Security number, address and bank account information. In order to load a Visa card online, you must have a bank account from which you can transfer money onto your Visa card.

    • 5). Print your receipt. You will receive your card in the mail. How quickly you receive your card depends on the merchant from which you order.

    Load in the Store

    • 1). Take your visa card to a self-service kiosk or help desk at one of the places listed as a Visa ReadyLink location (see Resources).

    • 2). Hand the cashier the cash you want to load onto the card and the card. You also can use another credit card or debit card to load money onto the Visa card. At a self-service kiosk, swipe the card yourself. At MoneyGram locations, do not swipe your card, but do fill out the blue form. When it asks for your "Receive Code" write "7034."

    • 3). Take your receipt and your loaded card.
