5 Skills Necessary for an Internship

Communication skills are essential to any internship job.
Candidates should be able to speak, listen and write at a satisfactory level.
Presentation skills would also fall under the category of communicating, also the ability to take constructive criticism as an employee, I am not sure how anyone can get better at their job if they cannot take constructive criticism from their superiors, it makes the individual better and enhances the company as well.
It all comes back to being able to express yourself in the work force and have an open and meaningful dialogue with your employer.
Computer and technology skills are also paramount in the job setting.
Candidates should be proficient in all the basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
In today's ever changing technological world future employees must be able to keep up with the changes and adapt to new application of media and technology to communicate with customers.
In addition almost every part of a business is run through computers so technology information should be second nature to internship candidates.
The role of leadership is always something that employers are looking for in a potential employee.
Candidates should be able to take charge but also know when to delegate and let others with more knowledge or experience on the subject take over depending on what is needed.
To be a good manager one must be able to lead and manage a group to execute a certain job or fulfill a task.
Another important internship skill is the ability to work in a team setting.
Candidates should be able to work well with different walks of people while still having the ware withal to focus on their own assignment to complete.
Working in tandem with team members is crucial to the company because being able to work well with others will create a solid and capable working atmosphere that will make work fresh and exciting.
The final skill that a potential intern should have is interpersonal skills.
Employers want candidates who can relate and associate with other workers, also inspire them to engage and participate in conflict resolution with other co-workers when the situation arises.
Interpersonal skills are important to the work place because they create networks and social acceptability with other workers, who can get to understand the wants and needs of the potentially new employee.
These five internships skills that future employers will be looking for in college students who are just entering the internship work force in seek of their full time career.
Having these traits will not only make you stand out in the interview process, but just might make the difference between being hired for the position or passed over for someone more qualified.
