What are statistics telling us? 2.
What is Nature telling us? 3.
What are managers saying that secretaries are not hearing? 4.
What are other employees saying? 5.
What are employees saying that managers are not hearing? Example:A recent Wall Street Journal survey found that 71% of secretaries are doing some work that could be termed managerial in nature.
Given this statistic, think about the work your manager does.
Which of his or her tasks could be re-distributed, thus empowering staff members to accept some new responsibilities.
Consider the specific ways both your manager and you will benefit if you requested/accepted a managerial function you are not currently performing.
If you are the manager, decide how you can better delegate.

What do you need to know that you don't already? 2.
Futurists tell us our workplace will soon become a virtual office.
How will you function in such an office? How can you prepare for that eventuality? 3.
How has your job changed in the last five years? 4.
How do you think it will change in the next five? 5.
How much new-knowledge time do you spend each week acquiring? A = ADVOCATE 1.
What kind of culture is ideal? What can you do to create it? 2.
How can productivity be increased in your workplace? 3.
What can you do prepare for the future? 4.
How can you help develop creativity? 5.
What will reduce stress in the workplace? D =DEVELOP 1.
Regard a leader as "one who effects positive change.
" With this definition in mind, whom do you regard as an outstanding leader? What has he or she done to earn that title? 2.
What needs to be developed where you work? 3.
If you were to retire next year, what legacy could you now develop for those who will follow and/or those whom your work affects? 4.
How could you develop better problem-solving skills? 5.
What strategies need to be developed to better serve our customers?
