Thought Crimes - A Movie For the Mentally Ill and For the Psychiatrists That Treat Them

It is quite rare indeed that I watch a movie that I would recommend to other people, rarer still a movie on Mental illness that presents truth in such a Dynamic way.
There has been a few movies in the past, Including Angel Baby that looked at Schizophrenia, A Beautiful Mind that looked at Schizophrenia, and now comes another extraordinary film, Thought Crimes by Executive Producer Jan De Bent.
Let me discuss the film a little and open some eyes, hopefully enough that the medical profession that read this might investigate further by watching it and doing some of us Mentally ill a favor.
Introduction For 16 Years I have suffered what doctors label as Schizoaffective Disorder, which for those who don't know it, is a combination of both Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder.
It seems in Heaven's lucky dip I was a real winner to be blessed with not one, but two very debilitating Mental illnesses.
For 16 years I have suffered to try and get a good grip on my mind and be able to control it like any other person.
I have succeeded in this, however few people know that I have, or have the courage to admit it.
The biggest tragedy of being mentally ill, is that the medical profession by in large are ignorant of the Supernatural world.
What I say is a voice of Jesus Christ speaking to me, is what they call an auditory hallucination.
To understand that term more completely, they are saying that even though I think Jesus (i.
e.
the Messiah who lived, died and was seen again resurrected on the third day), is speaking to me, that He really isn't and I am making up the voice in my own mind.
Essentially they are saying that I am speaking to myself and both making up what Jesus is saying with one thought of mine, and then I am responding to that with another thought of mine, in something I say.
Basically they are saying that I am crazy and out of my mind and living in a total delusion.
Their only answer to this is to give me medication that they believe will make me less susceptible to this illusion.
The problem is not with me, the problem is with the so called scientifically trained Psychiatrists, who ignore millions of people's testimony that a spiritual dimension exists in the world.
And that there really does exist a God in Heaven, angels, and former angels that work for Satan, another former angel.
Because of their adamant atheism, the blind refusal to believe in anything that cannot be proven by a scientific test, they miss treat and do great emotional and spiritual harm to the mentally ill.
They discount the fact that many of the world's greatest inventions and technologies were birthed by people with very clear and well defined spiritual beliefs, and the testimony from these inventors that the original thought for the invention was credited to have coming from God Himself.
I hear many times people laugh and say the cliché, "They say that the line between insanity and genius is very fine indeed" and yet these people by in large have no idea of what they are really saying.
On one hand they are saying that like would like to be called a genius but on the other hand they would not to have to live a life of insanity in order to be that genius.
What they don't know is that a person with Bipolar Disorder gets ideas come to his mind that are outside of the bounds of modern knowledge and technology.
They will often get an idea that seems absolutely absurd, and which the world's inhabitants with their limited knowledge, say is impossible.
The Bipolar can be absolutely right with the idea, and the idea could possibly work with enough thought and backing by people.
Although unfortunately most people with Bipolar are stigmatized by the general public, and therefore lack support, and added to that can be so debilitated by the illness that they suffer that they never get into the mind space to actually birth the idea into reality.
The people that do not ever birth the impossible idea are called insane, by the world at large.
However the people that do birth the world changing technology are later hailed as a modern genius.
It is so sad therefore to be forever the man that is insane and never credited by anyone as a genius in the making and supported for what they have thought.
Jesus Christ himself was called insane.
He was said by the religious authorities of His day who were able to recognize spiritual phenomena to be possessed by Satan himself! He was so good at His healing, and was such a profound Teacher, that His popularity had Him slaughtered by a people whose Religion was being seriously threatened.
Yet a billion people on earth now follow His humble teachings.
It is amazing that one crazy prophet in ancient Israel could have such a great effect of the population of the world.
Yet in His day even He was called insane.
More insane however, is the scientific community who trains the modern Psychiatrists of the world, who though an adamant refusal to have faith in the unseen world, miss treat their patients who are often traumatized by very evil voices.
I am not sure that the doctors really know that by telling their patients that they are delusional and not really hearing real voices, is doing massive emotional and spiritual damage to the people that they treat.
I hope what I have to say, here and what the movie says in its content might break through this wall of resistance that they have to the Supernatural things of this world.
I mean, even the basic human emotion of love, is still being explored by the world, and though it is real, and can be proven to be really existing in the world, it is still a mystery that millions of songs are written about each year by musicians, and millions of novels are written and read with love as its theme.
Even love, is not understood with thousands and thousands of songs recorded about it making the Top 40 on the charts, but the subject of the Supernatural is still largely discredited by the scientific community.
With all that in mind let us talk about this film Thought Crimes Exploring Thought Crimes...
the message of truth it has for the world
Our film starts with a young pretty lady who suddenly goes from being a normal young lady to one that has hundreds of voices speaking in her head.
This causes her terrible anxiety and like all things not understood lands her in a Psychiatric Institution.
However with all the Hospitals knowledge, nothing can be done with their drugs to stop the hundreds of voices in the young ladies head, and as you hear the voices in her head on the film it might bring tears to your eyes if you suffer from what doctors label as Schizophrenia.
Many Doctors at this point will go into Doctor mode, and yet they will see that the institution she is in have no answers for the girl.
Until one day the young lady works out for herself how to block out the voices.
( To say how she does it may spoil the movie) I once told my treating Psychiatrist that I was speaking to Jesus anymore and He was not speaking to me.
This stunned my doctor and his reaction was quite interesting.
He could not understand how I had managed to stop the voice and even more shocked when I confessed that I could stop any voice in my head by an act of my own will.
I told him that I was very angry at something Jesus had allowed to happen in my life, and for the time being I was not speaking to Him and that I had told Him that I didn't want Him speaking to me until I said it was okay to do so again.
He could not believe that the voice had stopped.
He just could not understand and he was totally stunned.
It seemed to me, by his reaction and his peppering me with question after question, that in his total history of treating people like me, that HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE STOPPING THE VOICES BY WILL! In fact, if I had not started to speak to Jesus again and later reported that Jesus was speaking to me once again, that he may have thought one part of my illness had been healed.
However the word healing is not something they like to apply to mental illness.
That being said, as a sufferer myself of other voices, I was very sad to see this young lady in the film experiencing her trauma.
And I was kind of happy when she found her answer, however she was still stuck in the Institution.
As a person that has been locked away in Institutions three times against my will, it is distressing for me to see another person locked up.
Then one day a man turns up that seems to know all about the young lady.
He takes her out of the Institution and shows her that she is not really insane and crazy, but instead she is tremendously gifted.
He struggles to show her that what had her locked up for nine years, five of which where she had not seen her own family, was not an illness, but simply a gift, that if she embraced and trained herself to properly overcome its down side, could be used for great good.
He said to the young lady that both Nostradamus one of the world most accurate prophets who has predicted the future about many things, and the infamous Joan of Ark who helped the French Army in victory, both had the same gift as her.
He said that the gift was called Telepathy and were not just scrambled voices in her imagination, but were the actual thoughts of other people.
She could read minds! However without proper control of these hundreds of voices and the ability to block them all out at will, her own method of blocking them out was not good enough for her to be able to ever function in regular society.
So this man takes her on and coaches her, and through a long step by step process, teaches her to not only to get complete control over the debilitating part of what she possessed, but to go further and be able to use her gift to do great good.
Soon we see, the people with the money who have been financing the coach to coach her, and we see the reason why they have invested the money and it does not look good to us as the people watching the film, nor the girl who has been coached.
This causes tension in the movie that carries the film on from that point with suspense that glues you to the screen for resolution.
The film is an impeccable treatment of these Supernatural phenomena and shows us that even though the scientific community shuns the Supernatural, the departments of Government in the world that need to protect society from threat seem to embrace these gifted people.
The film is outstanding and worth the investment and time to purchase it if you cannot order it into your local Video Store.
It is one film that made me cry with sadness for the girl and then cry with joy that the truth was so excellently presented about Phenomena that I have experienced.
