- 1). Dress the already-erected frame by tying a white cotton canvas that should have come with your yurt to the top of the inside wall and inside crown with provided straps.
- 2). Attach rectangular sheep-wool felt pieces to the outside circular frame of the yurt. Overlap felt pieces, securing them to the yurt frame with the long straps connected to the top and bottom of the felt pieces. Continue until the perimeter of the yurt is covered in felt segments.
- 3). Attach two semi-circular sheep-wool felt pieces to the roof. Locate the door of your yurt. Use a ladder to climb to the outside crown of the yurt and connect the felt piece that fits around the tip of the crown. Use the connected straps to attach the felt to the roof frame. Overlap the first piece with a second piece of roof felt until the entire wooden frame is covered.
- 4). Attach waterproof canvas pieces in the same manner as the sheep wool felt pieces around the sides and roof of the yurt, understanding that the felt provides insulation and the canvas provides protection from rain and snow.
- 5). Attach a large, outside cotton canvas to the entire yurt, starting at the crown and gently positioning it down around the sides of the yurt. Secure the cotton canvas cover, which provides a pleasing finished look, to the yurt with three long straps which run the length of the yurt's perimeter. Place the straps around the top, middle and bottom of the yurt's circular frame and secure them by linking them to the hooks positioned on the door frame.
- 6). Place the crown sleeve on and secure it to the cotton canvas with provided straps.
