- 1). Cover the work surface with plastic garbage bags.
- 2). Label the buckets with the marker -- two for water, one for the neutralizing chemical and one for bleach.
- 3). Arrange the buckets in the order they will be used: bleach, water, neutralizing chemical and water.
- 4). Fill the two water buckets with water. These will be used to rinse the shirt.
- 5). Mix the neutralizing chemical according to the package directions and put it in the labeled bucket. Prepare at least 4 gallons of neutralizing agent.
- 6). Make the bleach solution in the corresponding bucket, using 1 quart of bleach for 2 quarts of water.
- 7). Soak the shirt in the bleach mixture. Soaking for longer than ten minutes can damage the fabric.
- 8). Remove the shirt from the bleach, using gloves, when the shirt is as light as desired. The shirt will appear slightly darker because it is wet.
- 9). Soak the shirt in the first water bucket for least three minutes.

Soak the shirt in the neutralizing chemical for three minutes, or according to the package directions. - 11
Soak the shirt in the second water bucket for three minutes. - 12
Air-dry the shirt.
