Improving your self esteem is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
As you do you will learn to value yourself more as a person, develop a belief in your own abilities, be more willing to push yourself to grow and can find the happiness that you have been wanting.
Here are some tips you can use to start building your self esteem and developing a greater sense of self worth: Celebrate Your Successes No matter who you are or what you do, without doubt you have successes each and every day of your life.
The problem is that if you are like most people you spend more time focusing on your failures or on what you did wrong than on what you did right.
Don't think that the only true "successes" are the big things like winning an award, solving a huge problem, making a million dollars, etc.
Success comes in many smaller forms as well.
Things like managing to pay a bill on time, driving to work without getting in an accident, spending quality time with your family, remembering to send an email, or even getting out of bed and getting dressed in the morning are all successes as well.
When you lay down to go to bed at night, think back through your day and take note of all the great things that you accomplished.
Even if something seems easy to you, remember that it might not be so easy for someone else and the fact that you were able to do it is something you should be proud of.
For instance, you may not think it is a big deal that you managed to drive to work.
However, there are many people in the world who are afraid of driving who could not have done that, so it really is great that you could.
The more you focus on the things you do right instead of the things you do wrong the more you will start to appreciate the person you.
Not only that, but the more inspired you will be to do even more things right.
Do Something Nice for Someone For an instant boost in self esteem, take some time out of your day to do something nice and unexpected for someone else.
Offer to make dinner if you normally don't.
Hold the door at the store for someone who's arms are full.
Compliment a co-worker on their hair.
See how many small, nice things you can do each day.
You'll feel great about yourself and you'll be helping others to feel great as well.
