What Is HDCP TV?

HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) is a monitor that protects the copying of contents while it is being transmitted from one medium to another.
HDCP protects the content that is being transmitted from a television or a computer, to another medium keeping the images clear of any snow or static.
HDCP transmits images over high bandwidths without losing the quality of the content originally sent.
As more people are using such devices as mobile phones, wireless Internet and other technology HDCP is becoming more visible and thereby becoming more popular.
When a DVD disc is placed in the player or computer, the video checks to see if the machine is HDCP compatible.
If there is no proper license in place it will not be allowed to view the HDCP content.
If there is a proper license in place then the machine will display the material on the television or the computer.
The HDCP also makes sure that the images are not distorted while being transmitted.
In order to implement HDCP, you are required to have a license issued by the Digital Content Protection along with a secret device key for those devices that are allowed.
The visual unit will only display its content when the secret keys are correct.
If the process of authentication is successful then the data will be unscrambled and sent in a way that is recognized by a person watching it.
If it is not authenticated then remain scrambled.
Digital content protection is necessary not just for the movie and music industry but for any industry where the transmission of information must be kept private, i.
e.
pre-patent information on an invention not yet available to the public, or information exchanged regarding a private or legal matter where lawyer-client privacy is demanded and so much more.
To date the HDCP TV system, has been used, for quite a while in the world of entertainment for the protection of movies and music, to keep them from being unlawfully copied and marketed.
There are presently some pros and cons as to whether the system works as well as it claims but these will be resolved eventually as most pros and cons in any industry are.
