- 1). Fold the piece of paper in half so that you have a wide rectangle (a "hamburger" fold), rather than a long, skinny rectangle (a "hotdog" fold). Cut along this fold with a scissors, or fold it back and forth many times, then press it along the edge of a table and rip it downward.
- 2). Fold one of the halves of your paper in half again, using a "hotdog" fold so that you have a long, skinny rectangle. Place the paper in front of you with the open side of the rectangle on the top. Fold one of the top corners down until the corner touches the crease in the paper, making a right triangle. Be careful to only fold the front sheet of paper, leaving the back sheet for a later step.
- 3). Fold the entire side of the plane in half downward, making a long, skinny triangle with the same point as before. Repeat this step one more time.
- 4). Flip the paper over and repeat Steps 2 and 3 with the mirror image side of the plane, so that the folds on both sides come to the same point. Slide a paper clip under the point of the plane for improved flight. Throw by holding the middle section of the plane's underside and throwing with a forward and slightly downward motion.
