The sole survivor of a dying planet who came to earth and grew up to save the world, Superman is a symbolic emblem of invincibility, bravery and strength. The Superman Emblem

• The famous Superman "S" emblem is a popular selection for a tattoo. The placement of the tattoo holds its own meaning. Placed squarely in the middle of the chest and inked in bright red, it appears to mimic the superhero himself. Placed on the upper arm, it gives a essence of bare strength in the area. A runner may ink the "S" on his leg or foot. The emblem may also be altered to reflect individual tastes. For a person involved deeply in green living, shade the letter "S" in forest or grass green. A person involved in the gay rights movement may turn the symbol into a rainbow-colored representation. A dedicated athlete might choose school or team colors.
  
  

A Cape

• If you're truly dedicated to ink and Superman, a cape covering your back may be the right idea for you. The tattoo might cover the entire back region, or a miniature version may descend from the neck area. Create a flowing cape with curling edges and a thin black outline. A slight fold in the bottom of the appearance lends a realistic touch to the ink. Add depth by inking various shades of the traditional red cape. To step outside the box, choose shades of blue with the Superman emblem in red, or consider using pink if you're a girl.
