How to Fix a Rubber Gasket on a Front Load Washer

    • 1). Unplug the washer from the wall.

    • 2). Remove the three screws from the back of the washer top and slide the top forward. Lift up on the top to remove it.

    • 3). Pull out on the soap dispenser. Push down on the soap dispenser tab on the inside and lift the tray out of the washer.

    • 4). Pull out on the bottom panel of the washer to remove it .

    • 5). Remove all the screws on the control panel and pull out to loosen it from the washer. Pull on the wire connectors to disconnect the control panel. Mark the wires so you remember which wire goes where.

    • 6). Remove the screws holding the door latch in place and pull the door latch off.

    • 7). Slide a flat head screwdriver behind the wire clamp holding the gasket in place.

    • 8). Remove the four screw holding the front door in place and remove the door.

    • 9). Loosen the screw on the clamp holding the gasket in place. Slide the gasket off.

      Put the new gasket on and tighten the clamp around it. Reassemble the washing machine.
