- 1). Remove the original laces from the boots. You may wish to save these and use them to install the boot zippers instead of the laces that came with the zippers.
- 2). Unzip the zippers. Place one of the zippers in the boot, behind the lace holes but in front of the tongue of the boot. Push the zipper down so that the bottom eye of the zipper lines up with the bottom eye of the boot.
- 3). Lace the zipper into the boot using the laces provided. Lacing the boot zippers is similar to installing normal laces but instead of threading the laces back and forth from one row of eyes to the other across the tongue opening, you start at the bottom on one side and thread the laces through corresponding pairs of zipper and boot eyes, moving upwards one pair of eyes at a time. The laces will follow a spiraling path as they go from each pair of eyes to the next. Proceed upwards along one side of the zipper, threading the laces through each pair of eyes in succession, until you reach the top. Tie off the laces at the top using the final pair of eyes as an anchor, then thread the laces on the other size of the zipper. Attach the other boot zipper to the other boot.
- 4). Put the boots on and zip up the zippers. Adjust the laces attaching the zippers to the boots if necessary for the proper fit. You may need to loosen them a little.
