- 1). Fold one shoelace in half. Insert one end of the shoelace into the top right inner eyelet, pushing the end of the shoelace through the upper end of the eyelet. Insert the other end of the shoelace into the top left inner eyelet.
- 2). Pull the ends of the shoelaces toward you to create a flat, untwisted bar at the top of the shoe. Check to make sure the right and left ends of the shoelace are perfectly equal.
- 3). Take the right end of the shoelace and pull it diagonally through the top of the next inner eyelet on the left side, creating a diagonal. Pull the left end of the shoelace through the top of the next inner eyelet on the right side, creating another diagonal.
- 4). Continue to repeat this diagonal lacing method with the next three rows of eyelets. Fold the upper tongue down over the top of the shoe and tie the laces behind the tongue.
