Some may ask what they can do immediately to jump start the process of weight loss and boost their metabolism right away, and the answer lies all around them, and is a lot more easily accessible than they may realize. Are you ready? It doesnt cost a fortune, it is abundant, and they probably already use it, just not enough of it. Did you guess it yet? Yes, its water, H2O! Its something as readily available as that. Simple, right?
Well, some may say, Well I already drink water all the time and it doesnt help. To those people I say, how MUCH and often are you drinking it? It isnt just about drinking a glass or a couple of sips and then expecting results. One has to know how MUCH to drink, and how often.
For starters, almost every system in your body relies on water to function at its optimum level, and without water for an extended period of time, a person can die. Since the body is mostly made up of water and since blood flow, digestion, and cleansing require it (to name a few), it is one of the most important things you can ever put in your body. Not only will it flush out your system, but it will allow your body to work most efficiently and effectively.
I recommend to each of my clients that they start by taking their body weight and dividing it by two. Then, I encourage them to drink that many fluid ounces a day, every day, just for regular function of the body and at a minimum. One health problem that causes a large array of other health symptoms, that is often overlooked but very prevalent in todays society, is dehydration. Your body needs at least eight 8 oz glasses a day minimum to work properly. A lot of people do not get this much, let alone half of their body weight in ounces every day. The result, a whole array of unnecessary and preventable related health problems, along with a slower metabolism and dehydration. Think of all the illnesses one can avoid by simply drinking more water.
I also recommend to keep in mind that caffeine is a diuretic, and if taken in high amounts daily, needs to be combated with the appropriate amount of water to rehydrate. It is good to wake up first thing in the morning, when your body is in starvation mode, and jump start your metabolism by drinking a glass or bottle of water right away. You have to get the furnace going. Also, if you have two cups of coffee, you should drink 4 glasses of water to combat, since for every one caffeinated drink you need two glasses of water to combat the effects of caffeine in it. These are just suggestions, but helpful ones, as proven by many of my clients.
Losing weight and getting healthier only require sticking to the basics. No need to over think anything or complicate matters more than they should be. It really can be just as simple as remembering and implementing the most fundamental basics of lifestyle choices necessary to improve the quality, and perhaps quantity, of your life. Start by picking up the water and drinking it. Big and extraordinary results can stem from only small changes.
