Types of Electric Fans for Residential Premises

There are many ways of classifying electric fans. These will include classification according to main power, motor, structure, motor, blades, and even airflow. However, most people will recognize a broader classification based on the structure. We will tell you about different kinds of fans, from ceiling fans to ventilation fans, for your reference, below.

Ceiling Fan :

Hanging from your ceiling, this type of electric fans are perhaps the most visible. It induces movement of air in an otherwise still air-filled room. Ceiling fans are more effective in cooling larger spaces than any other kind of electric fans. This is because they generally have longer blades, giving them more coverage area. At the same time, it also takes up less space as it is hanging on your ceiling. They come in many colors and range from the ornate to the plain. This is the best solution when you need a permanent fix.

Pedestal Fan:

As the name suggests, this kind of electric fans are mounted on a pedestal. Pedestal fans today come with many options. They can be portable and height adjustable. You can even get an oscillating fan for even distribution of air. Castor wheels can give your pedestal fan mobility. The pedestal fan has more flexibility than a ceiling fan. It can be taken to any room which has a compatible electric socket.

Table Fan:

A table Fan is a shortened form of the pedestal fan, so you can just set it up on your table. This type of fan is the most portable. Small in size, it can be carried anywhere. Although its reach can be lesser than the pedestal or ceiling fan, its portability and compact size makes it a popular choice for many home and offices.

Wall Fan:

Wall fans are mounted on the wall. Generally, these are used wherever ceiling fans cannot be put up for some reason. They are easier to install in a finished home than a ceiling fan. These are good for places where you might need a more limited, yet concentrated air circulation than that provided by a ceiling fan, for example, a kitchen.

Ventilation Fans:

These are perhaps the most widely used fans worldwide. They are used in every corner of the world – from homes to factories. In fact, they are essential in factories. Ventilation fans take out the stale air from the room while at the same time bringing in fresh air from outside. In homes, they are indispensible in kitchens and to a lesser extent in bathrooms.

Electric fans become essential in houses in hot weather. Some like ventilation fans are even widely used for commercial purposes.
