- 1). Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- 2). Chop the onion into small pieces. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat and add the onions. Sautee the onions until they are tender. Remove them from the heat, allowing them to cool.
- 3). Cook the frozen broccoli according to the package's directions. Drain and set it aside to cool.
- 4). Cook the rice on the stove according to the package directions. Set it aside to cool.
- 5). Mix all of the ingredients in a larger mixing bowl, except for ½ cup of the shredded cheese. Stir until the ingredients are well-mixed.
- 6). Pour the mixture into a casserole dish. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheese evenly across the top. Cover the dish with tin foil, place it in the oven and bake it for 20 minutes.
- 7). Remove the tinfoil from the casserole and continue to bake until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly in appearance, roughly 10 more minutes.
