- 1). Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and allow it to preheat.
- 2). Coat a shallow baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or a light layer of shortening.
- 3). Place the sausage in the skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until completely brown. Remove from heat and drain off any fat.
- 4). Drain excess liquid off of green chilies and pimentos. Add them to the sausage and mix well.
- 5). Add the salsa, cheese, mayonnaise and sour cream. Stir until well blended, with all ingredients evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
- 6). Transfer the mixture into a well-greased, shallow baking dish and spread evenly, pushing the dip to the edges of the pan with the back of a spoon. Alternatively, place the cheese dip into a small crock pot and allow it to warm for several hours or until thoroughly melted.
- 7). Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the cheese dip is golden brown and bubbling.
- 8). Serve hot with raw, peeled vegetables or tortilla chips.
