- 1). Look after yourself from the inside out. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables, including colored fruit and vegetables, well-known for their antioxidant properties. Drink eight glasses of water a day. Keep your alcohol intake under control and do not smoke. try to get seven or eight hours sleep a night. Try going to bed at the same time each night and following a relaxing evening routine. Attend yoga or relaxation classes, learning to de-stress.
- 2). Take regular exercise at least three times a week. Exercise will maintain your cadiovascular health and help prevent joint and bone disorders later in life. Combine cardiovascular exercise with activities that improve your stamina and suppleness. Care for your teeth, as a nice smile can be one of your best attributes.
- 3). Review your hairstyle regularly. Keeping the same style as you had 20 years ago will not help you maintain a trendy look. Use the best products you can afford, particularly suited to your own hair type. Glossy, shiny hair is youthful. Older hair tends to be drier and duller.
- 4). Use a nourishing moisturizer and cleanse your skin each evening. Tone down your makeup a little. Dark eye makeup is aging and heavy foundation accentuates fine lines. Steer away from brown eye makeup, as this can make you look tired. Use concealer to hide black circles under your eyes. Always be as well-groomed as you can.
- 5). Stand straight -- a poor posture is very aging. Dress in a way that suits you and that represents you, rather than slavishly following trends. This is the time in your life to truly develop your own style.
