Artificial Hair Colors

    Cool Colors

    • Cool hair dyes stay within the ash blond, mouse brown and black colors. Typically, cooler colors look best on cooler skin types. Look at the veins in your arm. If they appear blue, you have cool-tone skin. Platinum blond, light ash, pale blond, any ash brown, mouse brown, "almost black" brown, grays, whites and jet black are artificial cool-toned colors.

    Warm Colors

    • Warm hair dyes will typically have a golden undertone. They look best on warm-toned people. If the veins in your arms appear green, you're warm toned. Artificial dyes of golden blond, honey blond, dark blond, brown-blond, golden brown, mahogany, walnut brown, auburn, almost all reds and chocolate browns are warm-toned colors.

    Bright Colors

    • Artificial hair colors also come in a variety of bright and not-so-natural colors. Several brands carry every color--quite literally--under the sun. You can purchase reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, purples, pinks--and the list goes on. What ever color you like, you can find it.
