City Of Al Ain - The UAE"s Best Kept Secret

Summary - Al Ain is the second-biggest city in the United Arab Emirates. It is full of interesting attractions such as the Al Ain Oasis, the Jebel Hafeet, the Al Khrair Animal Souq and the Green Mubazzara.

The United Arab Emirates is a country located on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula and has land borders with both Saudi Arabia and Oman. The country comprises seven emirates, the most popular of which are the emirates of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Over the past few years, the United Arab Emirates has become a popular tourist spot in the Middle East. Tourists who want to enjoy the culture and cuisine of the Arab world in a somewhat westernised atmosphere can do so here. It is a little surprising that the city known as the 'Garden City' of the United Arab Emirates is not more popularly known; however, Al Ain, (Arabic for 'the spring') does not really receive that many tourists each year. Foreigners planning on taking a vacation in the UAE should definitely put up Al Ain on their itinerary. The city is the second-largest in the country and has many interesting attractions.

The gorgeous city owes much of its greenery to its oases. There are seven major ones with the biggest one, Al Ain Oasis, located close to Old Sarooj. Surrounded by thousands of date palm trees, it is probably the most famous attraction here. Jebel Hafeet, the second highest mountain in the country, is another terrific place to visit. The drive to the top may be challenging but it is worth the view. Visitors should try to get to the top before sunset. While at Jebel Hafeet, one should also try to take in the Green Mubazzara, a beautiful park. Other interesting places to visit include the Al Ain Museum and Fort and the Al Khrair Animal Souq. Entrance into many of these places is free.

Tourists staying in Abu Dhabi will find it easy to take a quick day trip to Al Ain as it is only about a hundred kilometres away. Those who want the superb accommodation Abu Dhabi is famous for can stay at the Eastern Mangroves, Abu Dhabi. It is a hotel in Abu Dhabi where every effort has been taken to make guests feel at home. Boasting all the latest modern conveniences and a friendly staff, the hotel is a great place to stay at.
