10 Tips to Keeping Your Marriage Alive

A marriage is born between two people, something that should never be forgotten by either side.
What is the saying? "It takes two to tango!" These are words that everyone has heard, although few couples actually apply them to their marriage.
A marriage could be considered similar to a dance.
The day you get married, the music begins to play.
As you take hold of your partner, you gracefully take your first steps together.
However for many, the music soon stops, and the reality of forgetting who your dance partner was the day you got married, soon begins to surface.
Although it may be difficult, you should never let the music stop, and never forget those first few steps that you took with your partner the day you got married.
Here are some helpful tips on how you can keep that music going, and hopefully, they may even help you keep on dancing into your old age.
1.
Never forget, it is not only you that exists within your marriage, but your partner too.
You may not realize that your partner feels forgotten, if you do not remember that partner exists.
2.
You may love your partner, but if you do not show your love, your love has less meaning to it.
Show your partner everyday that your love is as strong as the day you first danced together.
3.
Do not take each other for granted, if you do not want to be taken for granted yourself.
Value even the smallest of things that your partner does for you, and always say thank you afterwards.
4.
Always respect your partner.
Show the same amount of respect to your partner, that you wish your partner to show to you.
Respect is a highly prized reward, and can only be earned.
5.
Try to communicate with your partner, as communication is a great way forward.
A lack of communication contributes to a lack of understanding.
Take time out to talk.
6.
Discuss things rather than argue about them.
Remember that no two people are alike, and that your partner has an opinion too.
Try to reason, and never become aggressive by losing your grip on the situation.
7.
Do not nag, and accept your partner for the person you first met.
Even your partner has a tolerance level, just the same as you.
Nagging only builds problems, and seldom ever changes a person.
8.
Have faith, and trust in your partner, as these are the foundations of your marriage.
Strong foundations will always withstand even the hardest of knocks that may come your way.
9.
Be creative in your love-making.
Most people think that having sex is "just doing what comes naturally.
" But love-making is an art, and good artists are always creative.
10.
Finally, keep the romance alive.
Never forget an important date, such as an anniversary or a birthday.
Chocolates, flowers, or just a litre of car antifreeze will show that you remembered.
Any person who has been through a divorce knows exactly what heartbreak it can bring.
The tears and the pain are simply not worth it.
So make the most of your marriage while it is their for you to enjoy, and work hard so as not to let it slip away.
