The Best and Worst of June 2013 Fashion
It's that time of the month again, the time when we get to judge and criticize all of those people more fortunate than us. It feels good doesn't it? Well let's stay with that high spirited feeling by flipping through June's crop of the best and worst dressed celebs. I do, however, have an added exclusivity to this month's gallery as all those included are decked out in head to toe white. That's right!
This is the Boldly Blanc Edition, so flip through for the good, the bad and the all white looks that made us stop and stare...
Worst: Sheryl Crow
Now camera shy star Sheryl Crow stepped out in this white bed sheet for the 2013 CMT Music Awards. Sheryl my dear, I think we need to talk quietly about bras, or really your lack thereof in this failing strapless, cut-out bodice. The bustier doesn't provide NEARLY enough coverage and the garish bronze sandals are a Greek Goddess' fall from grace.
Worst: Kaley Cuoco
Actress Kaley Cuoco posed for a portrait at the Broadcast Television Journalists Association's Third Annual Critics' Choice Television Awards in this ill-fitting prom dress. I doubt her dance card filled up very fast given the sagging bodice and dress shape that, frankly, swamps her shorter frame.
Best: Angelina Jolie
She doesn't have Brad Pitt by her side for any old reason as Angelina Jolie again proves herself to be a knockout in this head-turning dress at the Berlin premiere of World War Z. Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo (founders of the London-based brand Ralph & Russo) worked closely with Jolie to create the dress, for which the actress had a very specific request. “She didn’t want to go for a full-length gown,” Ralph explained to People.
“We wanted something very striking that wasn’t too overdressed, but wasn’t too understated. We wanted something modern, simple and elegant.”
Best: Princess Madeleine of Sweden
Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christopher O'Neill tied the knot this month in a typically decadent royal wedding. Not unlike Kate Middleton, Princess Madeleine was a vision in white as she floated down the aisle in a bespoke Valentino Haute Couture bridal gown, which as Vogue describes, "was made from silk organdies and ivory Chantilly lace, and featured a full skirt with a four-metre-long train.
The accompanying six-metre-long veil was covered with Chantilly lace flowers and edged with silk tulle, and was worn with a royal tiara decorated with fresh orange blossoms."
Best: Jessica Szohr
Former Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr attended the 2013 Fragrance Foundation Awards at Alice Tully Hall in a classic, embellished shift by Kaufmanfranco. She teamed it with a simple pair of nude, pointed pumps that let her dress do all the talking.
Worst: Eva Longoria
From a Desperate Housewife to a now Devious Maid, Eva Longoria didn't make the white impression in her Pamella Roland white silk peplum jumpsuit from the Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Sure it showed off her enviable derriere, but I feel the pants are poorly fit and the side "wings" unnecessary.
Kylie Minogue attended The 40/40 Club 10 Year Anniversary Party, but let's just ask the obvious question here... can you believe this woman is in her 40s?? I mean, just look at those legs, which go on and on and on in this micro-mini Anthony Vaccarello dress. The white pops against the contrasting skirt, which not-so-subtly reference THOSE famous gold hotpants she donned in her iconic "Spinning Around" music video.
Beneath all those nudey-hued floaty gowns she so adores, Taylor Swift has a super hot bod that she showed off in this white (with black piping) Herve Leger bandage dress, while attending the MuchMusic Video Awards. Adding a pop of color with her trademarked (I bet she's trademarked it by now) red lipstick, T-Swizzle left no curve to the imagination and teamed the dress well with a pair of on-trend gladiator booties.
