How to Lose 20 Pounds in a Healthy Way

Do you want to lose weight fast? Well, I'd be lying if I told you there were not at least 100 ways to lose 30 pounds in a week.
There are fasts, starvation diets, and weight loss supplements that can cause you to do just that and more.
But is that really what you want? The reason I ask is because if you lose weight quickly, as in 30 pounds in a week, you are almost certainly not losing fat.
Yes, you might lose some fat, but most of what you're losing is muscle.
This is something I'm sure you don't want.
Most experts say that if you lose any more than 1-2% of your bodyweight per week, you're in the muscle-burning zone.
How do you stay out of this zone, and be sure that what you're burning is fat? The first thing you need to do is to know how many calories you need to maintain your current bodyweight.
You can go online and find a calorie calculator that will help you do just that.
Then, when you find how many calories you need each day, subtract about 500 from that number.
If you eat that number of calories each day, you will lose about 1-2 pounds every week.
What if I start to get hungry? If you eat fewer calories, yes, you will feel a slight hunger at times.
There are ways to minimalize this, however.
First of all, you'll want to eat smaller meals, about 5 to 6 times every day.
Take the number you figured from the calorie calculator and divide it into 5 or 6.
Eat that number of calories every meal.
What you eat is extremely important.
Eating your veggies is not only important because they're good for you.
They also fill you up much more than junk or comfort foods.
For example, eating 200 calories of broccoli will fill you up much more than the same amount of ice cream.
You'll eat less, and feel less hungry.
Also, foods that are high in lean protein like chicken or turkey breast will cause you to feel full.
An added benefit to eating high protein is that foods high in protein have what's called a high "thermic effect.
" The thermic effect of protein is rated at about 30%.
What does this mean? It means that if you eat 100 calories of protein, then 30 of those calories are burned off while digesting the food.
This means that 100 calories really equals about 70 calories.
What a deal! Eating enough of the right foods, eating them at certain times of the day, and staying away from processed, junk, and comfort foods make it a whole lot easier to lose 20 pounds in a healthy way.
Also, before I forget.
Pick a day of the week for cheating.
That's right, I said cheating.
Make it the last meal of the day.
But, during that meal, eat anything you want, and as much of it as you want.
This will destroy any feelings of deprivation you might get during the rest of the week, and give you something to look forward to.
But then, if it's a part of your diet plan, it's not really cheating, is it?
