Night Race Essential Infomration



BRISTOL, Tenn. -- Saturday night is alright for fighting … and racing … and everything else Bristol Motor Speedway has become synonymous with over the past half century in NASCAR.

It’s race day for the Bristol Night Race and we have the actual green flag time, starting lineup and television information for one of the most anticipated events of the season in the post below.

START TIME: Drivers will be instructed to start their engines at 7:40 p.m.


ET with the green flag coming at 7:45. So if you want to skip the pre-race, plan to be on the couch at roughly 7:45. SMI chairman O. Bruton Smith will issue the command and is the grand marshall.

RACE DISTANCE: The Irwin Tools Night Race is 500 laps around Thunder Valley for a grand total of 266.5 miles.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: The children of the drivers and crews who belong to the Motor Racing Outreach program will once again sing the national anthem.

TV/RADIO SCHEDULE: The Irwin Tools Bristol Night will air on NBCSN and has a pre-race show that starts at 7 p.m. The Performance Racing Network and its affiliates will have the radio broadcast.

WEATHER: The National Weather Service is calling for a perfect day of racing with a ZERO percent chance of rain. The high is 83 degrees and the low is set for 70 by the conclusion of the event.

LAST YEAR: Joey Logano won the Bristol Night Race last year -- calling it the biggest Mama Jamma of Them All.
