Do you know who Bubba Watson is? The man from Florida with the southern accent who was seen with no shirt, with no shoes and wearing only overalls in the "golf boys" viral video. The golfer who purchased the "General Lee" from the TV show Dukes of Hazzard. The guy with the pink golf club, who can smash it farther than anyone else on tour. Or is he the man with the ingenuity and ability to smash a hook shot off the pine straw and under tree branches and onto the green! The guy who mentioned that the maneuver was "pretty easy!" The golfer who never taken one golf lesson and is known for stating "if I have a swing, I have a shot, and I hit the shot I see in my head."
To date Bubba's the most recent guy to win the Masters tournament in Augusta. Watson said he was nervous at every drive, approach and putt on his final round and during the entire tournament. But as Bubba was strolling up to his golf ball somewhere in the wooded area, he was certain he could get it on the green, and he took his swing. He knew the other golfer hadn't made it to the green yet, but decided not to play it safe anyway. Bubba won the Masters on his own terms playing "Bubba golf." And Bubba accepted his prize in his own way, with modesty, great emotion, and thanking everyone around him, including the locker room attendants. He has set his sights high for his future career and success.
In the words of Bubba, it is "the stuff off the golf course" that makes it all worth it. With his reputation now marked down in history and his fresh green jacket, it seems like Bubba pretty much sees his achievement as merely a means to an end. Bubba has a love for helping children. At the tournament he donned all white to raise knowledge for little ones born with problems who need reconstructive surgery. He hosts two children's tournaments in an effort to motivate children to master the sport of golf and influence them both while playing the game and while on their own time. Since Bubba has has enjoyed golf all his life and done quite well, he now can and will look to do good all over the world, having nothing to do with golf.
The golfer's most recent achievement that brings him more joy than all the rest? The March 2012 adoption of his newborn son, Caleb.
