How to Configure a Comcast Modem to Increase Speed

    • 1). Disconnect any unnecessary routers and other wireless connections from the main Comcast modem. This will allow your Internet signal to flow directly to your computer without "roadblocks".

    • 2). Relocate your routers and other Internet equipment out of the vicinity of your Comcast modem. Doing this measure can decrease any frequency waves that may be emitting from other Internet equipment and hindering your Comcast modem's speed.

    • 3). Place the modem above all other Internet equipment on a higher shelf or bookcase. If you are using a router, disconnect it when not in urgent use and store it completely away from the Comcast modem. Performing this action has been shown to increase Internet speed immensely since a router can give off frequency and electrical currents even when unplugged from your main outlets or other computers.
