How do I Put Adjustable Sights on a Heritage Rough Rider Fixed Sight Revolver?

    • 1). Choose the adjustable front sight that best fits you and the Heritage.

    • 2). Double-check the measurement of the foot of the sight. It may vary from the official specification.

    • 3). Clamp the Heritage barrel securely in the milling machine.

    • 4). Grind down the existing fixed front sight to level with the barrel.

    • 5). Coat the barrel with white paint and carefully mark off where the cut will be made in which to slide the new sight. Be sure this is centered on the top of the barrel.

    • 6). Cut the necessary pattern into the barrel with the proper bit and depth gauge for the sight you are mounting.

    • 7). Trial fit the sight foot into the cut. If necessary, adjust the depth or width of the cut to properly seat the foot.

    • 8). Coat the inside of the cut with a sealant and gently tape the sight into place with a nylon hammer. Let it dry.
