It seems everyone is so busy these days that many of us, especially women, don't even think about taking precautions to protect ourselves from home invasion or personal assault.
This lack of precaution can mean possibly becoming another victim statistic.
It is easy to fall into this trap of being too busy to worry about our own safety.
Just look around at the busy environment we each live in.
Everyone seems to be in a hurry because there is so much to be done in a 24 hour period.
How can we possibly fit it all in? There's work and kids and laundry and cleaning, grocery shopping, meetings, deadlines, animals to take care of, gardening, and the list goes on and on.
Why should we add one more thing into our busy schedules that involves looking for ways to keep us safe in a possible assault situation? We're just too busy to worry about it.
Well, here are seven reasons in the form of questions to ask yourself: 1.
If anything happened to you, who would take care of the kids? 2.
If you were attacked and left mentally and physically damaged, how could you support yourself? 3.
If you became a victim of rape, how would that effect your daily life, your relationship to others, your ability to live alone? 4.
If your house were invaded and robbed, how would you deal with the fear that it might happen again? 5.
If something happened to you, who would feed and care for your dogs, cats, horses, or other beloved pets? 6.
If you were assaulted in your home, who would protect the other family members? 7.
If you were attacked, what would the long-range results be for you mentally? How would it effect your self-esteem? Is it really worth the risk of pain, fear, agony and possible death to avoid taking a little extra time out of your busy schedule to plan and prepare for the possibility of being attacked? Here are some suggestions in finding the time you need in order to do a little research into defending yourself: 1.
It might mean getting up a little early or staying up a little later to do some research online to find self-defense products that would be right for you.
2.
It might mean giving up a few Saturdays to take a self-defense course.
3.
Perhaps by reorganizing your daily schedule you could find a little extra time here or there to initially put into finding, acquiring and learning to use self-defense products.
4.
Maybe you could spend your lunch hour doing some online research 5.
You might want to take a Sunday while the rest of the family is outside playing or watching a ball game on TV to check out some self-defense product websites and articles.
Once you have put into motion your self-defense plan for yourself and your family, it is only a matter of periodically checking the battery level or status of your chosen products and having occasional drills to remind you and your family what to do in a possible attack or home invasion incident.
So after doing some research and getting everything set up, you will go back to your busy schedule without any interruption of worrying about safety issues in respect to home and personal protection.
You will have a sense of peace, self-confidence and power and maybe even realize that you actually can find a little extra time in your schedule for some relaxation up in the mountains or somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of your hectic everyday life.
