You Could Be Suffering From Acne Rosacea and Not Even Know It

Acne is something over 95% of us will always experience in our lives at one point or another.
I've stated this on numerous occasions because it's not something you shouldn't be ashamed of.
When we break out or suffer from something, we typically know what it is most of the time (hopefully).
But is it possible to break out with acne and not know we have it? After all, it is a series of "bumps" or "spots" we break out with on our face we sometimes refer to as pimples.
Knowing whether or not we have acne shouldn't be all that hard to tell, right? Wrong! While acne does involve bumps and redness of the skin it is possible to have acne and not even know it.
This unique condition is known as acne rosacea.
This article will uncover how acne rosacea uses another condition to mask it's identity as well as reveal some of the symptoms of this condition.
I'll also provide a few treatment options if you currently suffer from this condition.
If you've never heard of acne rosacea, let me briefly explain what it is.
It's a non-curable condition that's considered a chronic form of dermatitis.
Inflammation can be found on your cheeks, forehead, nose and various other parts of your body.
The big kicker that throws people off is that it disguises itself as if it was a sunburn.
Please note that it'll be harder for people to tell that are always in the sun as they may have experienced getting sunburns from time to time.
If not, you'll likely be able to catch it before it progresses.
It's a disadvantage to sun bathers or people always exposing themselves to the sun because they'll be treating sunburns with sunburn products when in fact they could also be suffering from acne rosacea.
While acne rosacea does provide a disadvantage to sun goers due to its ability to "mask" itself, there are certain symptoms to look out for in order to help identify it.
A short list of symptoms that'll be present with acne rosacea are: Inflammation of the cheeks, eyelids, nose, etc...
Reddish pink patches on the skin's surface, Flushed skin, Redness, Burning (similar to having a sunburn).
The good thing about acne rosacea if you don't catch it early is the fact it rarely turns into an infection and develop cysts.
Women are more likely to suffer from the condition than men but men are typically affected more severely if they get it.
As you can see, acne rosacea can provide a level of discomfort.
With that, you also have a list of symptoms to help identify it early on before it gets worse.
Before closing, I want to provide a few treatment options that'll be great for dealing with this skin condition.
Acne rosacea is not curable (like the common cold) but there are special treatment options that can be administered by the dermatologist to help aid in the quickest recovery.
The cheapest yet preferable option will be some form of over the counter medicine that's strong enough to alleviate the condition.
You could also take an oral treatment that's similar to an antibiotic to help reduce the inflammation and redness.
There's also the option of undergoing laser treatment.
This option is for helping eliminate the redness caused by blood vessels in the face.
This requires a high level of skill and is a fairly new procedure.
Make sure you do your research when it comes to picking the right doctor for the job.
Please keep in mind that going this route will also be fairly expensive.
As you've just learned, acne rosacea can create a lot of problems for people that enjoy being in the sun.
Regardless of how careful you are at protecting your skin, it's possible to still get acne rosacea and not even know it.
If you're suffering from any of the symptoms mentioned above, make sure you take appropriate action or schedule an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible.
It may not be a sunburn after all.
