As teenagers many of us fall into the poor practice of popping zits to get rid of them.
As inpatient youths we need to be rid of the blemishes before the big dance, game or other social event ahead of us, and we know that if we pop that zit it'll be gone.
Problem solved, right? What we don't realize is that we're developing a bad habit with long lasting ramifications that many of us carry into our adult lives; and we eventually also develop the scars to show for it.
When you pop that zit you're only removing the visible, surface level problem.
But zits are caused by a number of conditions, and not addressing those will only assure that more zits appear.
So while popping a zit may seem like the fast solution, it is really only a temporary solution that only addresses the symptoms of the real problems.
There's also a large chance with each zit you pop that bacteria on your hands or the skin surrounding the zit itself will pass into the open wound created by popping the zit.
This can lead to serious infections and fresh outbreaks of more zits.
The best ideas in dealing with zits is to monitor your diet as the food and beverages you consume play a large role in the health of your skin.
Also be sure to thoroughly wash your face, neck, hands and other areas where outbreaks seem to be frequent on a regular basis with non-oil based soaps and non-alcoholic solutions.
Too much oil build up can result in outbreaks, and alcohol tends to over-dry and damage the skin.
Using an alcohol free product that cleans and heals damaged skin without leaving oils behind is the most important thing you can do to get rid of zits.
There are several good products on the market that are worth checking out for yourself.
Even if you don't have a constant issue with zits, it is good practice to cleanse daily and prevent those "bad timing" inflammations from occurring.
