First of all, do you still see yourself with this person long term or do you feel as though your break up is truly permanent? If you no longer want to be with your ex, then the best thing that you can do is to release the pain that you are feeling.
Sit down and write a letter to them that explains how you feel about them and your previous relationship.
You do not have to necessarily mail it.
What you want to do is to release your feelings so that they are not building up on the inside.
Once you have done this task, then you need to now release it.
Do not hold on to any negative emotions that you feel because this will prevent positive things from happening in your life.
If you have determined that you see a future with this person and truly want to get back with them, then you will need to devise a plan to heal yourself and the relationship.
One of the best things that you can do is to spend some time away from your ex to heal first.
During this time, you should develop new interests or go back and pick up some old hobbies that you have set aside.
Once you spend time away, then you can go back and reflect on your relationship as a whole.
You will have a new perspective of it and you can then work on healing your relationship now.
