Relationships are a very important part of life.
There are many relationships that we have in life, family, friends, work and special people.
Those various relationships help make life a magical and rich experience.
But there are things we need to have better relationships.
Are you judgmental? Everyone has different opinions, values and different tastes.
What works for you may not work for them.
You may not know the whole story.
Remember everyone is trying to do their best, so avoid passing judgment.
Can friends depend on you? You probably have friends who say they will show up yet they never show.
But if you have a friend, family member or coworker who never seems able to do what they say, they are saying something else.
Unfortunately they are not making you a priority.
On the other hand if you say you are going to show up or do something, your friends should be able to count on you.
Do you respect others? Your friends deserve being treated with respect and kindness.
No one likes to be used, judged or taken for granted.
People do not like it when others are rude to them.
If someone does not treat you with respect, you should try to separate yourself from them.
Respect is a key to better relationships.
Are you listening? Listen not only to what your friends say, but what they are really saying.
It is a comforting when someone really listens to our thoughts and feelings.
This makes you feel like you share life on a deeper level than with people who do not really listen to you.
Better relationships depend on you listening to your friends as well.
Can you be trusted? Gossiping can hurt yourself and others.
It does not matter if you are the one gossiping, listening to gossip or being gossiped about, someone is hurt.
Sometimes the stories is true or not, sharing stories that should remain in confidence is destructive.
Build a better relationship by avoiding this trust buster.
How are you at communicating? Friends love each other.
Friends also get into conflicts.
How you deal with the conflict is up to you.
When you snap at each other, attack and blame then you are not really communicating.
To build a healthy relationship, you need to learn how to communicate and share your feelings when things do not go well.
Is a healthier relationship in your future? You need friends who you can trust and talk to about life without judging you.
Your friends deserve that as well.
Respect, honor and trust build better relationships.
Being a better friend means involving all of these features.
If your friends do not respect you or listen to you then you need to think about how you need healthy relationships.
