How Your Body Affects Your Mind

The state of our bodies profoundly affects how we feel.
For example when we are happy and cheerful, our posture, the way we speak, the way we move and breathe are totally different from when we are sad or depressed.
In order to be sad our bodies have to behave in a certain way and we need to focus on sad things.
If these components are not present, we will not feel sad.
Want to do a test? Stand up and give a big smile, shake your body and feel very energetic.
Keep smiling.
Breathe in as you breathe when you feel fine.
Talk like you talk when you feel fine.
Continuing with the body in this state think of something a little sad.
You will notice that you will see the situation differently.
Try to find the positive side of it, you'll realize that what you thought was not so bad.
Maybe you can think that situation was kinda funny and start to laugh.
Well, now you know another way to influence how you feel.
If you want to feel good, do what your body does when it feels good.
If you're down, start to smile, make a move, you will notice that you will slowly get better.
Let me give you another good example about how your body can affect your mind; it's very simple but very effective: just breath in counting mentally 1, 2, 3, 4, then breath out slowly counting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Something very interesting happens when you use this breathing technic, specially when you feel anxious, nervous, worried or even stressed: your mind calms down and your thoughts slows down at the moment you are breathing out slowly.
In just 2 minutes your body will feel relaxed and your mind balanced!
