How to Customize New Era Fitted Hats

    • 1). Take your New Era fitted hat to a professional embroidery service. Select a graphic and/or text to embroider on the cap. After converting the design to an electronic file, the embroidery machine will use this information as a guide while it stitches the design onto your hat. Examples include embroidering your name on the fitted band at the bottom of the back of the hat.

    • 2). Use a permanent marker to write your name on the fitted band if you do not wish to pay for professional embroidery. Keep in mind that the marker ink may not show up on fabrics in dark colors such as black. Write your name with a brush dipped in acrylic paint if customizing dark caps.

    • 3). Use small drops of glue to attach crafting rhinestones to the team logo on the front of your New Era fitted team cap. To make the logo stand out from a distance, choose rhinestones in a color that contrasts with the color of the logo; for a more subtle effect, use rhinestones in the same color as the team lettering. For example, decorate the red "P" on the front of a fitted Phillies hat with green rhinestones to make the logo visually pop, or with red rhinestones if you would like a more understated look.

    • 4). Decorate the flat visor of your New Era fitted hat. For example, use fabric glue to attach pieces of different colored and patterned fabrics to the visor in an overlapping arrangement. Other ideas include gluing sequins to the visor, spelling out a message or creating an abstract design with the sequins.
