- 1). Connect your printer to your computer and turn on the printer.
- 2). Click the "Start" menu and select "Devices and Printers."
- 3). Right click your installed printer and select "Preferences."
- 4). Click on the "Services" (HP printers) dialog box, giving you access to all the services you can perform on your printer. Lexmark printers follow the same method above only with slight variations in wording. EPSON printers use "EPSON StatusMonitor" to help you maintain your printer and check ink quantities.
- 5). Click on the "Estimate Ink Level" tab or--for Lexmark printers--the "Cartridge Levels" tab. You'll see the images of two ink cartridges side by side, showing color and black ink levels.
