A great way to improve the quality of our life very quickly and dramatically is to celebrate it.
The more we stop to acknowledge our accomplishments and victories along the way, the more of them we will have to celebrate.
The better it gets, the better it gets.
Yet, why do we not celebrate our lives more? Why do we wait for New Year's Eve, or some major accomplishment to rejoice.
Why not celebrate the little things along the way! Like passing an exam, closing that deal, finding the perfect outfit, your stock going up, writing a poem or great article, sewing your own outfit, Sunday brunch, your divorce papers, a beautiful sunrise, the taste of rain drops on your face, your new puppy, getting through an absolutely horrendous Monday, finally being able to forgive someone something you never thought you would ever be able to forgive, moving forward with a project when you were afraid to or just didn't know where to begin, telling yourself the truth, telling someone else the truth, taking yourself out for a date, nouveau beaujolais, just being alive, paying your bills on time, the third week anniversary of your new job, your new fellow, your new fitness program.
We don't have to hire a string quartet and order in a case of champagne to celebrate, although it would be nice.
We could just take a moment to quietly acknowledge ourselves and others, for our accomplishments along the way.
What 3 things could you acknowledge and celebrate about your life today and will you do so before your head hits the pillow tonight?
