It sits within the Allegheny Mountains.and is the site of various recreational activities, including fishing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and whitewater rafting. Nearby stores rent out equipment for several water sports.
- The Adventures Sports Center has one of the only mountaintop whitewater courses in the world. Courses are available for beginners, experts and families. The Fork Run Recreation Area at the center also includes opportunities to rock climb, hike and repel off the top of the mountain. Annual events and sport competitions are also held throughout the year.

During the warmer months, guests can play golf at the Wisp Resort Golf Course, fly fish, paintball, kayak and bike. Guests who visit the resort in the winter can ski, ice skate, snowmobile and snow tube. The Club Wisp Adventure Day Program offers children, ages 5 to 12, an opportunity to ride chair lifts, play disc golf, swim, kayak, mountain bike and ride boats.
