- 1). Pour 1 tablespoon of plain gelatin into a bowl. The gelatin provides the sticky quality needed for the facial peel.
- 2). Choose a fruit or vegetable based on your skin needs. Acidic fruits and vegetables such as lemons, tomatoes and avocados draw oil from skin. Alkaline fruits including cucumbers, blueberries and papaya add moisture to dry skin.
- 3). Juice a single fruit or vegetable or a combination in a juicer or puree in a blender, depending on the consistency.
- 4). Add 1/2 cup of the juice or puree to the bowl containing the gelatin. Stir the mixture. Place the mixture in the microwave for one minute on high until the gelatin melts.
- 5). Remove the bowl from the microwave and put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes until the mixture thickens, but does not completely congeal.
- 6). Wash your face with warm water and a facial cleanser to remove surface dirt and makeup. Dry your face with a clean towel.
- 7). Apply the facial peel to your skin, without getting it in your eyes, mouth or nostrils. Keep the peel on your face for about 20 minutes.
- 8). Peel the DIY facial peel off when it dries on your face to clean your pores and improve the texture of your skin.
