Ways to Package Easter Treats

    • Easter treats come in all shapes and sizes. The treats themselves are often decorative, but putting them into attractive packaging makes them more visually appealing. Including the Easter theme in the packaging makes it festive and creates a cohesive presentation of Easter gifts.

    Baskets

    • Baskets are an obvious choice for packaging Easter treats. Traditional Easter baskets come in a variety of sizes and colors. They are typically inexpensive and are sold in nearly every store. Another option is to choose a regular basket that has decorative details. Choose one that fits with the recipient's decor so she can reuse it after the Easter treats are gone. Place colorful cellophane in the bottom of the basket. Arrange the Easter treats on top of the cellophane and tie the basket with a bow in a coordinating color or pattern.

    Nest

    • A nest provides a festive spring option for holding Easter treats. Craft stores sell decorative nests that work well for presenting treats. If you're giving edible Easter treats, such as small loaves of bread or homemade candy, wrap them in cellophane before placing them in the nest. This keeps them from getting dirty or contaminated by anything in the nest. Wrap the entire nest and treats in another piece of cellophane to keep it all together, and tie it closed with a bow.

    Decorated Box

    • A plain gift box or cake box turns into an Easter packaging idea with a few modifications. Use craft supplies to dress up plain boxes with Easter decorations. Cut out shapes from Easter-themed scrapbooking paper as a simple way to embellish the boxes. Other ideas include stickers, glitter, sequins or paint to freehand Easter images. Let the box dry fully before filling it with Easter goodies. An Easter bow tied around the outside of the box finishes off the package.

    Paper Mache Egg

    • Paper mache uses strips of newspaper and a homemade paste to create an egg shape. Blow up a balloon to serve as the mold for the egg. Mix together one part flour to two parts water for a simple paper mache paste. Dip strips of newspaper in the paste, wipe away excess paste with your fingers, and place the strips on the balloon. You'll need to cover the balloon completely, repeating to create three or four layers. Pop the balloon once the paper mache is dry. Paint the egg to make it resemble a decorated Easter egg. Cut a circle in one side so you can place treats inside the egg.
