I would like to meet one person who has gone through their life without a spot/zit/blackhead/whitehead or acne or any other skin related problem.
I am writing this as a 23 year old male who is finally getting over from the above.
I have had my fair share of spots etc and was even diagnosed with acne in my teenage years.
I still wake up every morning in a panic as to whether it has returned to haunt me, as (and you will understand if you are reading this), it is not a fun thing to have.
There are many costly medicines out there, which are full of alcohol and other formulas unhealthy for your skin, and of course not everybody is made of money, so here are my tips for a cost effective way of treating your skin, which I found to be an enormous help, especially through my college years when times were extremely hard! 1.
And one of the most easiest ways of controlling your problem is to keep your hands clean! Just think about it.
You rub your eyes, scratch your nose, itch your chin, stroke your cheek without even thinking about it! Your hands are carrying so much bacteria it is unbelievable and every time you are touching your face you are rubbing all of this nasty bacteria into your pores and suffocating them! For example, you have just gone for a walk and met your friend and their dogs and have played ball with them, or your cat is purring next to you and you have just stroked it.
Or you have just taken the trash out.
You could even be reading this on a public computer - think of the user before and where they have been or what they have been upto - the dirt is endless! I don't mean go over the top of washing your hands every 5 minutes - just keep a conscious thought of what you have been upto before touching your skin.
2.
Keep away from that double whopper super mac you are craving for! Go for the salad! Think about all that horrible grease and fatty additives you are putting inside your body! Yuk! For a start it is not good for your health and it is definitely not good for your skin either! Fruit and vegetables have special oxidants in them which release oxygen into your cells in your body and these help clean your pores naturally! You will also notice more change in your pocket too! 3.
Use a natural scented soap, with a natural PH balance (this is to do with the acids and alkaline in the product).
It might cost slightly more than your usual soap, but trust me it will do the trick for your skin (and is far more better than these special 'acne' soaps now appearing on the market which are full of alcohol!).
You can just hear your skin crying every time you wash with your favourite scented soap.
It may make you smell good, but what would you rather be, looking good, or smelling good? 4.
Drink a suitable amount of water daily.
I recommend three to four large glasses of mineral or filtered water.
Too little water can lead to dehydration, which can lead to dead skin cells not naturally falling off; the end result can be blocked pores, acne.
5.
Do get plenty of fresh air and sunshine for vitamin D, ingredients for healthy skin.
Not only will your skin like the vitamin D, your body and mind will enjoy the oxygen and stress reducer of a daily walk outdoors.
But don't overdo it and get a sunburn! Remember to use sun protection / tanning lotions if you'll be out long.
You don't want to get caught up in that cycle of burned, dead skin cells blocking pores, resulting in more acne.
Now I am not guaranteeing to an acne free body or anything.
These are just tips on how to control it and keep it down to a very minimum.
The above helped me a lot (especially during my college years when money was tight!).
