Good Question: Who to Include on the Wedding Program?

Reader Charmaine writes:
I found your Wedding Program guide to be very useful. You list the grandparents of the bride and groom. My grandmother is deceased and for my fiance, only his grandfather is alive. Do we include the deceased?
My answer:
This part of the program is to help your guests identify who is coming down the aisle and being escorted. For deceased family members, I'd add an "in memoriam" note at the back. Check out my article on honoring deceased family members, for more ideas on how to include them.

Readers, what do you think? Should your wedding program include deceased family members, and those not present because of other obligations?
