In this terrible economic climate the majority of people just can not afford to travel as much as they would like to, if at all.
For the majority of people a good holiday once a year was the norm, but as I said in this economic climate even that is stretching it, hence most people will try and make the most of their holiday when they actually get chance.
The thing being that there is more than one way to skin a cat, and I do not mean that literally, I mean if you change your way of thinking a little bit and go down the discounted route, you will find that you will most likely be able to travel a lot more than you do now.
No one can blame you for wanting to travel in first class when you do eventually get to travel, and no one can blame you for wanting to see every bit of the country you are travelling to.
When you try and get round to visiting every resort in the country obviously it means that you will be doing excessive travelling which we all know is not cheap.
First thing to do is to pick a destination where you know there will be a lot to do locally if that is what you want and to cut out the excessive travelling, which will save you a fortune straight away.
When you focus on one resort or city you will get the chance to explore that place a lot more than if you were just visiting for the day.
This will give you a chance to meet and speak to some of the locals, and then find out where to eat cheaply and find out where the good entertainment is.
It will always benefit you to get to know a lot of the locals because only then will you start to find where all the great bargains are, and you never know you might like it that much,that you will want to return, hence learning a little bit more about the place every time.
If you think back to one of your holidays that you done a lot of travelling while you were there and then work out how much it cost you to do all of that travelling in taxis and trains etc, you will understand how much you can save on your next holiday by staying at the same resort for the entire holiday.
Let us face it when you go on holiday anyway, you do not want to be involved with what is normally a working day for the natives, you want to kick of your shoes and totally relax.
The bottom line is if you meander around the resort that you are staying in you are saving yourself money every day hence being able to enjoy yourself more at night with the money you have saved.
I know of people that have adopted this way when they go on holiday and like I said they get to know the locals and end up going back to the same resort again and because of the knowledge that they have obtained they are able to go back at a lower cost the second time.
Honestly until you have actually tried it you will not realise how cheap your holiday can really be.
I actually get the best of both worlds being that I am a member of a vacation club which gives me fantastic discounts and I will actually stay put in that resort for the entire holiday.
