- 1). Buy an herbal skin-lightening cream. You can purchase these online or at a local health and beauty store. Make sure that the cream's ingredients list does not contain any harsh chemicals.
- 2). Use a small amount of the cream on a nonvisible part of your skin; doing this will give you a chance to see how your body reacts to the cream. If you develop a rash or any other kind of skin irritation, discontinue its use immediately, allow your skin to heal and then try one with different ingredients.
- 3). If your body does not react adversely to the cream, begin to use as directed by the product's label.
- 4). Continue use until you achieve the desired skin tone; then discontinue use until your skin naturally darkens again.
