- 1). Place the highest thread count sheets you can afford on your bed. Place the top sheet on, after you place the sheet over the mattress.
- 2). Add a lightweight blanket on top of the top sheet. Use one that's somewhat loosely woven so you can stay warm, without overheating.
- 3). Add your quilt, comforter or heaviest portion of your bedding. Opt for a large sleeping bag if you do not have a heavy enough quilt or comforter.
- 4). Add a small throw at the bottom of the bed in case you want to toss it over your feet or place on top of your head to keep the heat in. Use this technique especially if you lose power during the winter months and the bed is the only option for warmth.
- 5). Add some pillows around your body to trap the heat in and keep the space small. Use a body pillow next to you to eliminate gaps in the covers.
