Troubleshooting Dyson Vacuum Cleaners: No Suction

    • 1). Turn off the vacuum and unplug from the electrical source.

    • 2). Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe the outside of the floor and turbo tools.

    • 3). Press the cyclone release catch to release the clear bin. Pull the bin handle at the top of the vacuum out to remove the bin from the vacuum. Place the bin over a trash can and pull the trigger on the bin to empty the bin. Shake to ensure all dust and debris has been removed from the bin, wipe with a clean cloth and set aside.

    • 4). Use a clean cloth to wipe the shroud, which is the part of the vacuum that is inserted into the clear bin. Replace the shroud, and then return the clear bin to the vacuum.

    • 5). Press the filter release catch on the base of the vacuum to remove the filter from the vacuum. Lift the filter out of the vacuum and rinse thoroughly with water. Only wash the blue foam pad and the yellow filter cage. Let dry thoroughly for 12 hours before returning to the vacuum.

    • 6). Plug the vacuum back in to an electrical source and turn on. The vacuum should operate properly with full suction.
