- 1). Select the pendant you want to use. Look at the pendant and decide where you want to attach the finding. If the piece has a picture on it attach the finding at the top but if it is a simple stone, decide where you want the top to be.
- 2). Attach the finding to the pendant using a small dot of jeweler's glue on the rough inside edge of the bail. These findings are also called bails and can be found at specialty jewelry stores or on Etsy.
- 3). Let the glue dry. It will take about an hour for the glue to fully set so that you can work with the pendant again.
- 4). String the pendant onto the chain or cord. If you are using a chain, you are finished and can wear your new necklace.
- 5). If you are using a cord, slide the pendant onto the cord then tie the remaining end to the clasp to finish. If you don’t want the pendant to slide along the cord, tie a knot just to the left of where you want the pendant to sit. Add the pendant and then tie a knot immediately after to secure and continue by attaching the clasp.
