Homemade Wedding Shower Invitations

    • 1). Draw an arrow on a piece of copy paper and load it into the printer. Test print on the paper to double check which way the page loads. Type a word in your word processor and hit print. If the words print on the arrow side, load your invitation paper the same way. Turn the paper over if it printed the wrong way.

    • 2). Open your graphics program. Broderbund and Adobe both have good graphics programs for this task. Select the two invitations per page setting. This will print two invitations per page. You will cut them later.

    • 3). Drag a text box into the center of the invitation's cover. Type in "You Are Cordially Invited."

    • 4). Open the invitation template for the inside of the card. Drag a text box into the center of the page. Write the details of the wedding shower inside the box. This should include the occasion, the date, time and place. Tell guests where the couple is registered.

    • 5). Add a text box to the bottom of the page. Ask guests to RSVP and include the phone number of the person holding the shower.

    • 6). Print the invitations. Using a ruler as a guide cut the invitations in half with sharp scissors.

    • 7). Fold the invitations in half. Poke the brad into the top of the card cover. Slide a six-inch piece of ribbon under the brad. Center the ribbon over the brad. Push the brad the rest of the way through and fold the back together.

    • 8). Fold the ribbon into a pretty bow. Tuck the invitation into the envelopes.
