Birthday cards help someone special celebrate her birthday. There are a variety of crafty ways to make a handmade card in order to personalize it. Some cards take little time to make, others can take several hours. - Fold a cream-colored piece of 12-inch-square cardstock in half. Glue a teal-colored 4-inch-by-4 inch piece of cardstock in the middle of the folded cardstock. Flatten a cupcake liner. Glue the flattened cupcake liner to the teal cardstock about 1/2 an inch from the bottom. Cut a circle from purple cardstock using wavy scissors. The circle should be slightly smaller than the cupcake liner. Slide a few inches of the circle into the cupcake liner and glue the remaining part to the teal cardstock. Add "sprinkles" to the purple cupcake with puff paint. Glue a birthday candle onto the upper right corner of the cupcake.
- Fold a piece of 12-inch-square blue cardstock in half. Cut a piece of orange paper so that it is 1 inch smaller than the blue cardstock on each side. Glue the orange paper to the center of the cardstock. Cut a yellow piece of paper so it is 2 inches smaller that the orange paper on each side and glue it in the middle of the orange paper. Stamp or hand-print "Happy Birthday" onto a blank, white index card and glue it in the middle of the yellow paper. Glue pieces of lime-green ribbon across the front of the card to frame the greeting.
- Fold a 12-inch-square piece of cardstock in half. Glue pictures on the card cut from magazines or other printed media or a photograph of you and her together. Choose things she enjoys, such as flowers, hearts, hobbies or animals. Glue ribbon in her favorite color around the card's edges to create a frame.
