- 1). Decide which rules apply to you. If you have moved within the same city or township, you can simply update your address. If you move to another city or township within Michigan, you will need to re-register to vote.
- 2). Fill out an address change form.
You can download a same-city, same-township address change form at http://www.michigan.gov/documents/ed-109pg_16088_7.pdf. A State of Michigan voter registration form for new city or township moves can be downloaded at http://www.michigan.gov/documents/MIVoterRegistration_97046_7.pdf. The forms can also be acquired at your local county clerk's office, Secretary of State branch offices, or the offices of the state departments of Human Services, Community Health and Career Development. Military recruitment centers also provide voter registration services.
Fill out the form with your name, new address, birth date, sex, driver's license number and expiration date and a daytime phone number. - 3). Submit address change form. Michigan's voter registration address forms can be mailed to:

You can also visit https://webapps.sos.state.mi.us/mivote/clerksearch.aspx for a list of county clerks' offices throughout the state and then deliver your application in person.
When you change your voter registration address, your address is also changed on your driver's license. Similarly, when you change the address on your driver's license, the information is updated with the voter registration office. The addresses on your voter registration card and driver's license must match.
